Galactic to Double Production Capacity of Lactate Esters and Calcium Lactate
After unveiling its plans to invest in a multi-million Euro innovation plant, Galactic goes on expanding its activities and will be increasing its production capacity for lactate esters and calcium lactate by over 100% this year.
Feb 29 2012 --- Galactic, a leading supplier of lactic acid and lactates will be increasing its production capacity for lactate esters and calcium lactate in the coming months. After unveiling its plans to invest in a multi-million Euro innovation plant, Galactic goes on expanding its activities and will be increasing its production capacity for lactate esters and calcium lactate by over 100% this year.
“As a matter of fact, we are increasing our production capacity for all our product ranges,” says Frédéric van Gansberghe, the Managing Director of Galactic, adding that “the company may announce further expansion plans in the next few months, especially where specialties are concerned.”
As a company offering healthy alternatives for food applications, Galactic provides the agri-food industry with functional ingredients such as calcium lactate. “There is an increasing demand for mineral fortifiers in a wide range of food products,” says Van Gansberghe.
By increasing its production capacity for lactate esters, Galactic will be in a position to meet the growing demand for green solvents that are both safe and eco-friendly. Galactic has developed a wide range of esters with different solvent properties, all of them obtained from lactic acid. Galactic’s Galaster range includes only chemically-pure esters, whereas its new Galasolv range includes customized ester blends and other types of blends. This will also position Galactic to compete in the rapidly growing green-chemistry market.
