Friesland Foods Kievit Launches New Range of Savoury Creamers
The product meets consumer demand for healthier products that contain less saturated and trans fatty acids. Saturated and trans fatty acids have been linked to high cholesterol and an increased risk of coronary heart disease.
16/10/08 Friesland Foods Kievit has launched a new range of savoury creamers that are based on non-hydrogenated fat (non hvo). They have a considerable reduced amount of saturated fatty acids; up to 80%.
The savoury-creamer Kievit launches meets consumer demand for healthier products that contain less saturated and trans fatty acids. Saturated and trans fatty acids have been linked to high cholesterol and an increased risk of coronary heart disease.
Kievit has been producing non hvo based creamers for a long time, but this is the first time it has been done with this remarkable reduction in saturated fatty acids.
The creamer is especially developed for use in savoury applications like soups, sauces and mashed potatoes. Besides its health benefits it differentiates itself in excellent stability and taste. Although unsaturated fats tend to be less stable and more sensitive to oxidation, primary research shows a shelf life of at least 15 months.
