FMC raises Avicel prices

Avicel brand food and pharmaceutical cellulosic-based products will be ranged by 5 to 7 percent on average.

14/03/05 FMC BioPolymer has announced that effective April 15, 2005, and as contract terms permit, it is raising pricing for Avicel brand food and pharmaceutical cellulosic-based products by 5 to 7 percent on average, depending on the product line. FMC said that the action is necessitated by cost increases in raw materials, energy and packaging, which cannot be completely offset by FMC’s vigorous and on-going efficiency and cost reduction efforts.
