First UK Degradable Caddy Bag from Dempson
Designed to fit into a caddy next to the kitchen sink, once full, the caddy bag can simply be placed straight into lidded bins for collection by councils operating separate recyclable waste collection.
08/12/2007 In a move to support the environment and council initiatives to make households recycle more in the home, Dempson Crooke, one of the UK's leading suppliers of bags, is now able to provide an environmentally friendly and degradable food caddy bag for disposing of food waste in the home.
Made from a specifically designed BioKraft paper, the food caddy bag guarantees to break down in 112 days in industrial composters. With a superior wet strength they are strong enough to hold wet food, and still offer consumers a 'green' and clean solution to dispose of raw or cooked waste.

Jon Katzauer, Managing Director of Dempson Crooke, said: "We are proud to be an extremely environmentally responsible company, and are delighted to be introducing the first genuinely compostable food caddy bag to the UK as we feel it is a truly innovative product that has a very positive purpose. Unlike other products, these bags will degrade as fast as the food waste they hold. We are currently in discussions with local councils and a major retailer so that consumers can start using them as soon as possible."
Available in two different sizes in packs of 25, the brown food caddy bags suit most kitchen caddies or can just stand on the kitchen work surface.
Jon Katzauer concluded: "In the near future we will be introducing more green variants to our comprehensive range of products as we look to reduce our carbon footprint whilst at the same time helping the environment."
