With the two-liter Pure-Pak Curve carton, consumers also benefit from easier handling and a large Elo-Cap UP closure with a 29mm cap for easy opening, pouring and reclosing.
Nov 14 2011 --- Bottled water shows tremendous growth year-on-year, but is packaged mostly in plastic bottles. In contrast, First Choice Still Water in the ‘Maxi’ Pure-Pak Curve carton is South Africa’s first water in paperboard - a unique choice in a plastic-driven sector
Recyclability and renewability are key buzzwords in today’s marketplace, but not ones that have often been used in the water sector - until now.
In response to rising consumer demand for more environmentally-friendly water packaging, Woodlands Dairy (Pty) Ltd. in South Africa, has chosen the two-liter Pure-Pak Curve carton to package its First Choice Still Water.
Good for the consumer, great for the environment
First Choice Still Water uses the strap line, “Enjoying drinking Pure Water – without a drop of guilt” and targets health-conscious and environmentally-aware consumers.
Produced using premium water and reverse osmosis technology, the result is purified water with a great taste that is responsibly packaged. Tinus Pretorius, GM sales & marketing at Woodlands Dairy, says, “The paperboard in our Elopak cartons comes from well-managed forests – which means that our water is good for nature”.
Johan de Smidt, MD of Elopak SA, says, “Elopak recognizes the packaging industry’s impact on the global climate. The Pure-Pak carton has a very favorable CO2 footprint, when compared to other packaging formats. The carton is the most environmentally-friendly packaging alternative on the market. It comes from a renewable source, is recyclable, and has a carbon footprint up to three times better than a plastic bottle.”
With the two-liter Pure-Pak Curve carton, consumers also benefit from easier handling and a large Elo-Cap UP closure with a 29mm cap for easy opening, pouring and reclosing. Retail price for First Choice Still Water is ZAR 8.49 and distribution is ambient.
