Expressions Aromatiques Launches a New Range of Organic Flavors to Support Global Trends
12 Jan 2016 –- As the world is fixated on new food solutions produced in accordance with an eco-friendly development, words such as “Natural”, “Clean label” and “Organic” are particularly sought after by consumers. In this way, Expressions Aromatiques has developed an original range of “Organic flavors” specialized towards the evolution, production and marketing flavors for the Food and Beverage Industry. The company are dedicated to the creation of innovative and tailor-made flavoring solutions.
The main point in eating organic food is not only the taste and nutritional value, it’s also and foremost about treating livestock and the land with respect. This new organic range has been certified by the Ecocert Group, a certification body for sustainable development.
FoodIngredientsFirst spoke to marketing assistant, Margaux Barale: “Up until recently, “clean label” and “All natural” claims were driving the Food & Beverage market, unfortunately, the regulatory environment surrounding the “All natural” claim was unclear and consumers started to question the real definition of “natural”. As opposed, the “organic” claim takes on a reassuring dimension for the consumer. It is a notion they can relate to. Hence we decided to go beyond the simple “natural” claim and create a range of organic flavors.”
Expressions Aromatiques decided to develop the organic flavors to meet their product claim: “More and more food and beverage manufacturers decide to produce 100% organic products, and not only organic products. Therefore, in such case, all ingredients in the product formulation have to be “Organic”, not only 95% of ingredients but 100%.”
This very first organic range includes a wide array of fruity and gourmet notes, ideal for all manner of beverages, bakery products and dairy applications. Amongst the different flavorings, are available:
- citrus notes,
- various forest fruits,
- fruits from the orchard
- and exotic fruits flavors,
- as well as sweet brown flavors such as coffee, vanilla and caramel.
With the intention of creating a comprehensive and original range of organic flavoring solutions, new raw materials are being selected and tested every day. By incorporating those flavors into their applications, Food and Beverage companies can create sustainable food options that consumers will enjoy integrating in their daily eating habits.
Barale tells FoodIngredientsFirst: “Our first range of Organic flavors has been developed initially for beverages and dairy products, but very quickly, we will widen the range with new references for other sweet applications such as biscuits and confectionery. They must be labeled: In English = Natural “X” flavor, Organic or Natural « X » flavor With Other Natural Flavors, Organic or “x” flavor, Organic.”
