DSM Food Specialties Introduces Protection You Can Trust

Preservation solutions are of high importance to the global food industry, playing a key role in food protection. Protection You Can Trust provides a new platform to address key manufacturing issues.

15 Sep 2009 --- DSM Food Specialties has announced a new strategic positioning for its food protection portfolio which has been brought together under the umbrella brand ‘Protection You Can Trust’. The move reflects the company’s commitment to producing effective preservation solutions to the global food industry which offer clear and tangible benefits. These include reliable food protection, ease of application plus time and cost savings.

Commenting on the launch, Marloes Moerman, Product Manager Preservation, said: “The scope of our preservation portfolio has been driven by customers’ needs – and is highly flexible as a result. By listening to specific manufacturing concerns, we have developed a range of products which can be used to create tailor-made solutions and so deliver maximum benefit for individual processes and product quality requirements. Delvocid L, our new, liquid food preservation solution introduced in April this year is our latest example. Dairy and meat manufacturers can rely on our ingredients to deliver the required protection, and so leaves them free to focus on their primary aim – producing and selling high quality food products.

“We have also developed a dedicated website to support this launch which can be found at www.protectionyoucantrust.com.  It provides useful information on how we work with customers to identify the most effective and reliable solution to match their individual requirements.”

Preservation solutions are of high importance to the global food industry, playing a key role in food protection. Protection You Can Trust provides a new platform to address key manufacturing issues. Firstly, these effective preservation solutions respond to increasingly stringent food safety standards. By preventing contamination in a range of dairy and meat products, they avoid costly recalls and potential damage to a brand’s reputation. Equally important are the commercial advantages gained from increasing shelf life; leading to less waste, as well as delivering significant time and money savings – crucial in these times.

“Although many food preservation ingredients may look the same and claim the same functionalities, fundamental differences exist in effectiveness, quality and application capabilities,” continues Marloes Moerman. “With our new ‘Protection You Can Trust’ positioning, we differentiate DSM Food Specialties’ offer and convey the real benefits of our reliable and safe range of preservation solutions.

“Our commitment to quality, reliability, traceability and sustainability (Quality for Life) also applies to our preservation solutions. By carefully selecting our preferred raw materials and service suppliers, we are confident that our products offer the performance and protection required to meet today’s rigorous safety standards. All DSM Food Specialties’ food preservation ingredients are produced to the highest standards and manufactured at ISO 9001:2000 and HACCP facilities. ”
