DSM Continues Leadership Position in Dow Jones Sustainability World Index
In 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2009 DSM was also named the worldwide sustainability No. 1 in this sector, while in 2007 and 2008 the company ranked amongst the top leaders in the sector.
Nov 5 2010 --- Royal DSM N.V., the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company headquartered in the Netherlands, has continued its number one position in the chemical industry sector in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index. This was announced in a press statement issued by SAM and Dow Jones Indexes. After the initial publication of the 2010 sustainability scores in September 2010, SAM identified an issue in the software used to evaluate the results of the Corporate Sustainability Assessments and announced a reassessment of the 2010 scores. This review has now been completed.

The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index includes over 300 companies from 34 countries that rank among the top 10% in their industries in terms of corporate sustainability. In 2003 DSM was for the first time included in the Dow Jones STOXX sustainability index for Europe. In 2004, 2005 and 2006 DSM achieved a leadership position in both the European and the global index. The company was again named leader in both indexes in 2007 and 2008. In 2009 DSM regained its leadership position.
