DHA Finds Organic Baby Yogurt Application

ONC’s MEG-3 DHA ingredient has been approved as organic compliant, making this product the first organic yogurt with DHA. YoBaby Plus Fruit & Cereal Yogurt now with DHA, is directed toward babies and toddlers to provide them with the nutrients they need.
 
YoBaby Plus Fruit & Cereal Yogurt with DHA contains 17 mg of DHA per 100 calories, the same amount normally found in breast milk.  This stir and serve product is available in two delicious flavors, Strawberry/Banana and Raspberry/Pear.
 
DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) is one of the essential fatty acids that the body needs for normal growth and development.  By dry weight, thirty percent of the human brain is DHA, which is important in infant nutrition because the brain grows rapidly until age seven. Studies have shown that DHA can also improve cognitive and visual skills.  Historically, the main source of DHA was from eating fatty fish, such as salmon, anchovies and sardines.  Fish consumption has decreased dramatically in the last 50 years so there is a major DHA dietary deficiency during these important developmental years.
