DDW Launches Natural Brown Coloring for Cream Cheese and Dairy Spreads
06 Feb 2013
Dairy product designers can use the oil dispersible caramel color to suggest sweet or savory flavors, such as pumpkin spice, roasted onion or cinnamon apple.
Dairy product designers can use the oil dispersible caramel color to suggest sweet or savory flavors, such as pumpkin spice, roasted onion or cinnamon apple. The new coloring helps to provide consumers with a roasted fruit or vegetable appearance for flavors including apple, pear, mango and onion.
Dairy companies can declare the emulsion coloring as “caramel color” on the ingredient statement. It serves as an alternative to a blend of FD&C red, yellow and blue lake pigments — derived from petroleum.
