DDW Completes Transition Of Dupont-Danisco Food Colorings
18 Jun 2014 --- DD Williamson (DDW) has completed the acquisition of the food coloring product line and related processing equipment from Danisco USA, a part of DuPont Nutrition & Health. DDW’s expanded natural coloring operation in Port Washington, WI has manufactured all products following the transaction in December 2013.
“We accomplished our smoothest acquisition transition in recent decades,” said Ted Nixon, chairman and CEO. “Having prioritized customer support with a focus on retention, we’ve built a base for future growth,” added Nixon.
The acquisition broadened DDW’s portfolio of natural color solutions for customers and positioned DDW as the largest manufacturer of annatto-based food colorings in North America. After the equipment and inventory transfer from DuPont’s plant in Madison, WI, production consolidated at DDW’s GFSI-certified operation in the same state. The financial terms of this transaction were not disclosed.
The Dupont Danisco product line of coloring consists primarily of various carotenoids and blends offered as food industry solutions in the yellow to orange spectrum. DDW supplies the dairy, dessert, bakery/snack, culinary, flavor, beverage and other industry sectors.
DDW's mission is to enhance the visual appeal of food and beverages. The Colour House is a place where creativity blends with advanced technical capability to bring color ideas to life for customers. DDW's wide array of naturally derived coloring, along with its sought after caramel color and burnt sugar, helps sell two billion servings every day.
