In addition to cutting costs, the solutions demonstrate rich potential for developing exciting, brand new products, high in consumer appeal. The application areas covered include dairy, bakery, beverage, ice cream, meat, culinary, confectionery, fruit, oils & fats and brewing.
22/06/09 Danisco has launched a dedicated website to give the food industry a complete overview of the opportunities available from the company for cost-reduction.
With its cost-reduction promotion, Danisco recognises the shift in consumer behaviour that began with the first signs of the credit squeeze last year. From being highly optimistic and positive, consumers have become cautious about the future - an attitude reflected in their spending behaviour.
Recent insights show consumers are turning away from over-consumption, eating more at home and generally on the lookout for more value for money.
“We can see that consumers have clearly become more cost-conscious since the end of last year. But the focus is not only on economy products. Small, premium indulgences are also important to soften the hard times,” says Birgitte Mikkelsen, group manager who is leading the project.
“At Danisco, we have years of expertise in developing solutions to match specific market needs, including the need to cut costs. Right now, it is clear that our customers’ emphasis on cost reduction has moved to a new level.”
The new website brings together more than 160 solutions from the global Danisco organisation for adapting food and beverage recipes to current market conditions.
In addition to cutting costs, the solutions demonstrate rich potential for developing exciting, brand new products, high in consumer appeal. The application areas covered include dairy, bakery, beverage, ice cream, meat, culinary, confectionery, fruit, oils & fats and brewing.
