Danisco Expands its Cellulose Gum Capacity in China
The expansion, which will increase production of the highly functional, high-purity hydrocolloid by an annual 5,000 metric tonnes, is planned for completion in early 2012.
4/29/2011 --- Danisco has initiated a major expansion of its cellulose gum production facility in China to match growing demand from the global food and oral care industry.
The expansion, which will increase production of the highly functional, high-purity hydrocolloid by an annual 5,000 metric tonnes, is planned for completion in early 2012.
Since entering the cellulose gum market in 2006, Danisco has already undertaken several upgrades and expansions at the facility in Zhangjiagang, China.
“The food industry has reacted positively to our range of GRINDSTED Cellulose gum products, which, unlike others on the market, are specified and dedicated towards a defined application,” says Jean-Baptiste Dufeu, Cellulose Gum Product Manager.
The GRINDSTED Cellulose gum range is divided into five application categories: AMD/NMD for acidified and neutral dairy applications, BEV for beverages, BAK for Bakery, TOC for toothpaste and MAS for miscellaneous applications.
GRINDSTED Cellulose gum satisfies all international food regulations as laid down by, for example, the EU, FCC, FAO/WHO and JECFA. The plant meets the requirements of GMP and is in the process of being certified according to the global BRC food safety standard.
Danisco is a hydrocolloid powerhouse, offering the widest range of highly functional solutions, including alginate, carrageenan, cellulose gum, guar gum, locust bean gum, microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), pectin, xanthan gum and customised blends with emulsifiers and enzymes.
