CSM name Unilever's Hoetmer as new CEO
Hoetmer succeeds Jaap Vink, who will resign on 1 May 2005, following the announcement Vink’s intention to leave last October.
01/03/05 Gerard Hoetmer has been named as the new CEO of global bakery supplies and food ingredients company CSM. Hoetmer succeeds Jaap Vink, who will resign on 1 May 2005, following the announcement Vink’s intention to leave last October. Vink saw the company deliver very poor results six months ago and CSM has announced major restructuring in its US and French bakery operations in the last couple of weeks.
Gerard Hoetmer (48) has a Dutch nationality and is currently employed by Unilever as Senior Vice President Supply Chain. Hoetmer is a member of the Unilever Foods Executive, having held various positions at Unilever since 1980. CSM said that “his extensive knowledge and experience of the food industry in a business-to-business environment fit in perfectly with the business operations of CSM.”
