Crown plans to open new beverage can facility in Kazakhstan
The facility would have an annual production capacity of 750 million aluminum beverage cans.
23/11/05 Crown Bevcan Europe & Middle East, a division of Crown Holdings, Inc., has announced plans to build a new beverage can production facility in the Central Asian nation of Kazakhstan. Located in the Burundai suburb of Almaty and adjacent to local customer filling plants, the facility will have an annual production capacity of 750 million aluminum beverage cans. Commercial production of 33cl and 50cl cans is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2007.
In addition to serving the Kazak region, cans from the new facility will be available for export to neighboring markets.
The Almaty facility is being designed to accommodate the installation of a second production line, allowing Crown to increase capacity as market demand grows.
