Crown Holdings, Inc. Announces Raymond L. McGowan, Jr. Promoted to President of Its North American Food Packaging Business

30/12/06 Crown Holdings, Inc. announced that Raymond L. McGowan, Jr., age 54, has been promoted to President of its North American Food Packaging business responsible for that segment's marketing, sales, production and planning. Previously he served as President - CROWN Food Can Packaging USA. His responsibilities now also include all of the Company's Canadian food can businesses. Mr. McGowan will continue to report to Frank J. Mechura, President of Crown's Americas Division.
"Ray's selection for this expanded role was based on his proven managerial skills, leadership and innovative thinking, as well as his knowledge and expertise of both the operational and customer service sides of our business," said Mr. Mechura. "We expect this combination of our U.S. and Canadian food packaging operations to facilitate synergies and improve manufacturing capabilities."
Mr. McGowan joined the Company five years ago as Vice President and Assistant to the President of the U.S. food can business and later was promoted to President of that division. Prior to joining Crown, he was Group Vice President of Global Consumer Products at Sonoco Products Company.

Mr. McGowan graduated from Providence College with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and completed the Executive Management Program at the University of North Carolina.
