Covance Nutritional Chemistry and Food Safety Laboratory Receives ISO Accreditation
The ISO accreditation reaffirms strong client confidence in Covance and presents new opportunities within the microbiology and nutritional chemistry marketplace.
Aug 3 2011 --- Covance Inc., a market leader in nutritional testing, announced that the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) awarded full 17025 accreditation to its nutritional chemistry and food safety facility in Battle Creek, Mich. Granted by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation, ISO accreditation confirms compliance with AOAC INTERNATIONAL guidelines for laboratories performing microbiological and chemical analyses of food and pharmaceuticals.

Since opening in October 2010, with Kellogg’s as the anchor client, Covance has expanded its client base in Battle Creek to include companies manufacturing a wide range of food products and ingredients. Through its affiliation with the Global Food Protection Institute, the company has increased awareness of advancements in food protection and helped to establish the area as a food safety hub.
ISO 17025 in Battle Creek follows successful accreditation of the company’s nutritional chemistry and food safety laboratories in Madison, Wis. (2009) and Singapore (2008). With more than 75 years of experience in nutritional testing, Covance plays a leading role in the design of testing programs required to meet nutrition facts labeling regulations and scientific standards.
