Comax Flavors Develops a Brazilian Flavor Collection in Anticipation of the 2016 Summer Olympics

In anticipation, Comax has developed the “Nod to Brazil” flavor collection. Flavors in this collection include:

 

• Cachaça (liquor distilled from fermented sugarcane juice)
• Caipirinha (Brazil's national cocktail)
• Chimarrão (a style of Yerba Mate)
• Brazil Nut Cake
• Brigadiero (Brazilian Chocolate Bon Bon)

 

“Driven by the 2016 Summer Olympics, Brazilian culture with a focus on food and drink will be influential in the US culinary scene. As we know the younger demographics and multicultural consumers embrace new flavors and Comax sees Brazilian flavors as the next flavor inspiration,” stated Catherine Armstrong, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Comax Flavors.

 

Speaking to FoodIngredientsFirst, Armstrong said: “We are excited about our new line of Brazilian flavors.  We are seeing requests for more regional and ethnic flavors. Consumers’ palates are expanding and they are open to trying different foods and flavors.”

 

“Millennials have certainly been a driver of this trend,” she explains. “We thought with the upcoming Olympics in Brazil it was a good time to highlight our Brazilian flavors while Brazil is in the spotlight. I believe this trend will certainly continue beyond the summer.”
