C&C Strikes Deal to Bolster Magners in Thailand
07 Mar 2016 --- C&C Group has struck a strategic deal with San Miguel Marketing Thailand, as the maker of Magners looks to strengthen its position in Thailand. The tie-up will mean that two companies can teams up to expand distribution, sales and marketing activity of Magners in Thailand.
Thailand is one of the biggest cider makers in Asia for Magners.
The new distribution deal replaces a previous partnership C&C had with Mini Bar Services in Thailand.
San Miguel Marketing Thailand already makes a number of own beer brands at its brewery in Thailand, and distributes them across the country.
Joris Brams, managing director of C&C’s group international division, said: “We have the international market firmly in our sights and are delighted to be working in partnership with San Miguel Marketing Thailand, strengthening our international relationships even further.”
“This collaboration allows us to bolster our sales and brand exposure, and derive forward our international expansion in a significant way.” San Miguel managing director Carlos Berba described the tie-up as key milestone for its business in Thailand.
According to its latest financial figures, C&C reported a 9.5 percent to $62.5 million in its first half.
C&C Group has switched distribution partners for Magners in Thailand, dropping a previous agreement for a tie-up with San Miguel Brewery.
The company said this week the new deal will help it ramp up its distribution for Magners in one of the largest markets in Asia for the cider brand.
