26/02/08 Brent Rogers, a technical manager at Cargill, will discuss the opportunities available in targeting the joint health market --with insights on formulation with functional ingredients in products targeted to boomers and athletes -- at the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Developing and Marketing Products for Consumer Health and Wellness Conference, Feb. 27-28, in Chicago.
“The food industry is making strides in delivering functional food solutions that can make a real difference, but more can and should be done to provide solutions that address specific health needs of consumers,” said Rogers. “This discussion will provide an overview on the delivery of health benefits through food, and glucosamine’s role in joint health,” he said.
Cargill’s REGENASURE Glucosamine is produced from a vegetarian source and is the only commercially available non-animal, non-shellfish and Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) glucosamine made domestically. Other glucosamine products on the market are derived from shellfish (shrimp, crab, etc.) shell waste.
