Cargill to acquire meat businesses in Fresno

20/09/05 Cargill Meat Solutions Corporation, a leading processor of beef, pork and turkey, has announced that it has a preliminary agreement to acquire the stock of several interrelated Fresno meat businesses: Beef Packers Inc., Fresno Meat Co., RPM Beef, Inc., King-O-Meat, Inc. and Ore-Cal Transportation, Inc.
The transaction is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2005, and is subject to normal due diligence and regulatory approvals.
The Fresno business would be part of the Cargill Taylor Beef business unit within Cargill Meat Solutions.
Cargill Taylor Beef processes both mature and fed cattle, providing boxed beef, boneless beef and custom-formulated ground beef with regional service capabilities on the East Coast through its facility in Wyalusing, Pa., and Central U.S., through its facility in Milwaukee, Wis.
