Campina appoints M. Feller as Managing Director Germany
To succeed J. (Hans) Burger, who accepted a position a few months ago as Director of the German dairy company Bergader, Waging am See.
21/11/05 Campina BV has announced that M. (Michael) Feller (46) has been appointed Managing Director Germany, a division of the Consumer Products Europe group, from 1 January 2006. Mr. Feller, German nationality, is currently Country Manager Campina Russia. He will also succeed J. (Hans) Burger, who accepted a position a few months ago as Director of the German dairy company Bergader, Waging am See. Feller reports directly to the Group Director of Consumer Products Europe (CPE).
As Managing Director Germany, Feller is primarily responsible for all marketing and sales of such products as milk, dairy drinks, yoghurt and desserts under the Campina and Landliebe brands as well as supermarket brands for the retail segment. The German market, which is the largest consumer market in Europe, is very important for Campina. Campina is one of Germany’s leading suppliers of innovative, high-quality dairy products. Campina’s 2004 sales of 'white' dairy products (milk, dairy drinks, yoghurt and desserts) in Germany totaled some EUR 900 million. The dairy company wants to see further qualitative growth for its German operations. In view of this, an internationally experienced manager such as Feller is an excellent choice in fulfilling Campina’s growth ambitions in Germany.
Feller, who started working for Campina in 1985, was Country Manager Campina Russia for seven years and was also one of the architects of Campina’s success in that country. Under his direction, Campina Fruttis grew to become an extremely popular brand in Russia. Campina – which was named this year’s best-performing foreign company by the Russian Federation – achieved sales of over EUR 100 million there in 2004. Campina has been active in the Russian Federation since 1992, reporting growth figures exceeding 10 percent, on average, in recent years. Campina Russia is a flourishing company with primarily Russian staff. Around 400 employees work at its production facility in Stupino (Moscow region). Prior to his appointment as Country Manager Campina Russia, Feller held the position of Country Manager Campina Spain, among others.
The Consumer Products Europe group reports sales of around EUR 2 billion and produces and sells milk, dairy drinks, yoghurt and desserts throughout Europe. Important markets where the group is active are: the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Russia, Romania and the Baltic States.
The management of the Consumer Products Europe group reflects its international character. Reporting to the CPE Group Director are: CPE Germany (responsible: M. Feller, German nationality), External Relations Germany (responsible: K.N. Reuss, German nationality and also responsible for all German production facilities within Supply Chain), CPE Netherlands (responsible: W.A.M. de Bruijn, Dutch nationality; also responsible for international branded strategy), CPE International (responsible: E. De Cock, Belgian nationality), CPE Supply Chain (responsible: M.M.G.M. van den Hoven, Dutch nationality, also responsible for international private label strategy) and CPE Finance (responsible: A.E. Traas, Dutch nationality). The Consumer Products Europe group is currently being managed by Campina’s CEO, J.J.G.M (Justinus) Sanders, who will continue to assume that responsibility alongside his duties as CEO until a Director is appointed for the CPE Group.
Campina has informed its staff and Central Works Council. The relevant works councils (Dutch Central Works Council for advice and the International Consultative Committee for consultation) are involved in the process.
