Cadbury Schweppes sells Europe Beverages business
A consortium acting on behalf of the funds managed by Blackstone Group International and Lion Capital LLP pays €1.85 billion (£1.26 billion) for the deal.
03/02/06 Further to its announcement of 21 November 2005, Cadbury Schweppes announces that it has completed the sale of its Europe Beverages business to a consortium acting on behalf of the funds managed by Blackstone Group International and Lion Capital LLP for €1.85 billion (£1.26 billion).
Cadbury Schweppes is the world’s largest confectionery company and has a strong regional presence in beverages in North America and Australia. With origins stretching back over 200 years, today Cadbury Schweppes’ products - which include brands such as Cadbury, Schweppes, Halls, Trident, Dr Pepper, Snapple, Trebor, Dentyne, Bubblicious and Bassett - are enjoyed in almost every country around the world. The Group employs around 50,000 people.
Cadbury Schweppes will announce its preliminary results for the year to 1 January 2006 on 21 February 2006.
