Brenntag to Acquire Italian Distributor Chimab

01 Oct 2014 --- Brenntag, the global market leader in chemical distribution, has agreed to acquire Chimab SPA, headquartered close to Padua, Italy. The company is a supplier of food ingredients and semi finished products for several food subsectors, including Beverage, Ice Cream and Desserts, Meat and Prepared Foods.

It is a cornerstone and important contribution towards establishing and promoting the specialty business unit Food in Italy and therewith becoming market leader in the industry sectors Meat, Bakery and Ice-Cream.”

For the financial year 2014 Chimab is expected to generate sales of more than EUR 32 million. The closing of the transaction is expected in the course of the next weeks.
