Brenntag Acquires US Regional Distributor G.S. Robins
The acquisition enables Brenntag to improve its presence in several of Brenntag’s focus industries including the Food & Beverage and Water Treatment industries.
5/31/2011 --- Brenntag, the global market leader in chemical distribution, has announced the completion of the acquisition of G.S. Robins & Company, a leading regional distributor of industrial chemicals headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. The acquisition enables Brenntag to improve its presence in several of Brenntag’s focus industries including the Food & Beverage and Water Treatment industries. Brenntag will integrate G.S. Robins & Company into its North American operations within the next six months, utilizing a proven and efficient integration process developed over multiple acquisitions.
William Fidler, Member of the Management Board of Brenntag AG and President and CEO of Brenntag North America, Inc. stated: “Brenntag and G.S. Robins & Company share a similar geographical distribution area with both companies bringing complementary products, services and industry knowledge to the many customers in that region. G.S. Robins & Company is a family owned and operated business for more than 85 years. The company is primarily a distributor of industrial chemicals with custom blending services and specialty packaging in eight facilities. In 2010 the company generated sales of USD 96 million.
