Breakthru Beverage Wisconsin Picks Up Almanac Beer
03 Feb 2016 --- Breakthru Beverage Wisconsin is pleased to announce the newest addition to its expanding craft beer portfolio: Almanac Beer Co.
”We love Wisconsin. I grew up in Madison and Milwaukee, and have always loved the Cheesehead state,” said Almanac Co-Founder and Brewmaster, Jesse Friedman. “Beer is essential to the Wisconsin experience, and we can’t wait to be a part of the amazing beer community. Some of our favorite breweries that inspired us to start brewing are located there, and sharing a tap list with them is a dream come true.”
Founded in 2010 by Friedman and Damian Fagan, the San Francisco-based Almanac Beer Co. is known best for its Farm-to-Barrel Wild Ales including the Farmers Reserve series, which are produced using locally-sourced fruits from partnering farms throughout Northern California and then rested in oak barrels. Each harvest, Almanac partners with a different Northern California farm to supply the fruit used for that season’s batch. This level of collaboration gives Almanac’s ales a terroir distinctive to the region.
In addition to the Farmers Reserve series, Breakthru Beverage WI will also be carrying Almanac’s Farm-to-Barrel Dog Patch Sour, Saison de Brettaville and a rotating selection of small-batch releases as well.
“We are very proud to be representing Almanac in Wisconsin,” said Mark Cirillo, Breakthru Beverage Wisconsin Director of Craft Beer. “Almanac is recognized as having the top sour and barrel aged program in the U.S. They complement our portfolio nicely and fill Wisconsin’s growing thirst for wild beers.”
Breakthru Beverage WI will begin distributing a selection of Almanac’s beers in early-February, with both bottle and draft options available.
