Beverage Cans with a Butterfly Look
Coca-Cola in Northern Ireland brought out a limited edition of 330 ml cans with six different colour designs for low-calorie Diet Coke.
29/11/2007 Ball Packaging Europe has made a significant step forward in enhancing its high definition graphics technology: In summer 2007, Coca-Cola in Ireland launched the first coloured collection of high definition cans as part of a promotion campaign.
Coca-Cola in Northern Ireland brought out a limited edition of 330 ml cans with six different colour designs for low-calorie Diet Coke. The artistically sophisticated designs - like the zebra and butterfly patterns - were created by Ireland's top art, fashion and interior designers. "The six designer cans enable female consumers to select the appropriate beverage can for any look - an essential accessory for every outfit!", explains Diet Coke brand manager, Alexandra Phelan.
Ball Packaging Europe's new high definition graphics technology celebrated its premiere last year: beverage cans in the superior-looking black and white design, also for Coca-Cola Ireland. The can with the sophisticated design and artistic presentation received the "Cans of the Year Award" in gold in 2006.
Using the high definition graphics technology, even the smallest details can be reproduced pin-sharp. At first it was only possible to print in black and white - now the new printing technology enables coloured designs to be applied to steel or aluminium cans at a constant production rate.
