BASF’s Former Omega-3 Production Facility Renamed Marine Ingredients AS
02 Mar 2015 --- Marine Ingredients announced that the omega-3 production facility it has recently acquired from chemical giant BASF will be renamed Marine Ingredients AS. This factory is considered one of Norway’s most capable omega-3 manufacturing plants.
According to Dave Eckert, Chief Commercial Officer at Marine Ingredients, “Our recently acquired manufacturing facility has been producing world class omega-3 for over fifteen years and its present production capacity and product quality is better than ever as a result of the significant investments BASF put into the factory.” Mr. Eckert continued, “This plant also has a hard earned Norwegian pharmaceutical license, which is important these days as our industry becomes increasingly stringent about quality assurance.”
The acquisition from BASF has completed Marine Ingredients transformation into a fully integrated omega-3 operation. Todd Parker, Marine Ingredients’ Vice President of Business Development commented, “Our new production facility allows us to serve our customers in a much more complete fashion. We can now custom craft premium omega-3 ingredients for our customers in North America and around the world and utilize these ingredients to produce proprietary softgel or liquid bottle formulas.”
