Barentz Acquires Majority Share of Agri Nutrition

Agri Nutrition has a portfolio of excellent products in the area of life-science and their impact on animal wellness. Agri Nutrition expects to reach a turnover of 55 million EUR in 2012.

5 Oct 2012 --- Barentz Europe B.V. acquired the majority shares in Agri Nutrition B.V. (The Netherlands) on October 2, 2012.

With this significant purchase, Barentz will expand its business within the European animal nutrition market. Barentz and Agri Nutrition will integrate their activities to share knowledge and increase market intelligence with a strong focus on life-science. This acquisition fits Barentz’ strategy to become a pan- European leader in the distribution of specialty ingredients for the animal nutrition market.

Agri Nutrition was founded in 1999 by Mr. Alfred Jansen and has become a significant player in the most important European animal feed producing countries. Agri Nutrition has a portfolio of excellent products in the area of life-science and their impact on animal wellness. Agri Nutrition expects to reach a turnover of EUR55 million in 2012.

The Barentz Group is a privately owned company founded in 1953 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It is a pan European distributor of ingredients and additives for the food, pharmaceutical & cosmetic, chemical and animal nutrition industries and is present in all European countries. It will achieve an estimated turnover of EUR900 million in 2012.

The animal nutrition activities will be managed out of the Agri Nutrition office in Doetinchem, the Netherlands. The management teams of both companies are already working closely together in order to integrate the activities of both companies.
