Astarta Develops Strategic Cooperation with Danone

Strategic partnership with Danone with its broad international experience will enable Astarta to bring a dairy business to a new level of efficiency.

3/7/2011 --- Astarta and Danone the world leader in dairy products, waters, and baby nutrition started the working up of a large-scale joint project in production and processing of milk. "As the largest manufacturer of industrial milk in Ukraine, Astarta is planning a further active development of this business segment, which we consider to be very promising", CEO Victor Ivanchyk said.

Astarta' high level of vertical integration in industrial cattle farming, own forage supply, as well as accumulated experience of industrial livestock business, will provide for substantial increase of volumes and cost efficiency of milk production and further upgrading of its quality in the coming years. Strategic partnership with Danone with its broad international experience will enable Astarta to bring a dairy business to a new level of efficiency.

One of the largest producers of dairy products in Ukraine, Danone is represented in the country by 8 regional offices and by the "Danone Dnipro" plant located in Kherson.

Astarta is the largest manufacturer of industrial milk in Ukraine and plans for the next five years to double the production of milk.
