Aruba's rum products to reach U.S. Market
Aruba's top aged-rum product - Ron Cartavio - and the Cartavio Rum suite of rum products to be introduced into the United States this fall.
03/11/05 Destilerias Unidas, in a joint announcement with Velocity International, a U.S.-based importer, announced that they will be introducing Aruba's top aged-rum product - Ron Cartavio - and the Cartavio Rum suite of rum products into the United States this fall. Cartavio Rum, a product of Destilerias Unidas and produced in a Caribbean-based facility in Aruba, is one of the most noted and well-respected names throughout Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe. Founded by the Cartavio Sugar Co. in 1929, Cartavio Rum is currently the leader in many Latin American markets.
In 1929, Cartavio Sugar Co. purchased 10,000 oak cases from Slovenia, home of the finest white oak at the time. It is the same oak barrels in which Cartavio Rums age today for years under the watchful eye of a Cuban trained Master Distiller.
Cartavio offers an extensive selection of rums in their product line, ranging from their white rum, Blanco Superior, with sweet vanilla aromas to their 12-year aged rum, Old Rum of Solera, with hints of spices, light chocolate and light coffee.
Currently, Cartavio's distillery has 15 rooms, housing 40,000 casks and containing 8 million liters of aging rum.
Cartavio Rums are a product of Destilerias Unidas and are a leading brand throughout Central and South America. Cartavio offers an extensive selection of distinct Aruban rum products.
