Arla Foods Ingredients Becomes Local in Poland
"A big part of the decision to have our own sales staff in Poland was a desire to make more focused sales"- Sandbeck.
14/05/09 Arla Foods Ingredients has established a new sales organisation in Poland to forge stronger relations with the country’s food manufacturers.
The move is part of the company’s strategic focus on Eastern Europe, pinpointed as a major growth market in the years ahead. Danuta Bielanska has been appointed national sales manager in Poland. Coming from the former distributor of Arla Foods Ingredients’ products, she will be drawing on her vast knowledge of the market and the product range to build up sales. Natural solutions for ice cream, dairy products and meat are the primary focus areas, in line with the “Closer to Nature” company strategy.
“The Polish market has attracted many international food companies, which have opened factories. But Poland also has strong domestic producers,” says Danuta Bielanska. “At Arla Foods Ingredients, we are able to meet needs for high-quality, cost-efficient products and can satisfy the functional requirements of local specialities.”
More focused sales
Allan Sandbeck, European sales group manager, looks forward to being in direct contact with the Polish market after many years of operating through a distributor company.
”“A big part of the decision to have our own sales staff in Poland was a desire to make more focused sales. We prefer to work closely with less customers and sell them specialities rather than sell commodities to many,” he says.”
The Polish office will be in continuous contact with the Arla Foods Ingredients’ customer service team and application centre in Denmark.
”“Success is when the top ten customers in the country call us because they have something they want to discuss. That’s when they see us as a partner rather than a supplier,” Danuta Bielanska states.”
The work to achieve this ambition has begun.
