Andre Pectin Announces Price Increase for its Complete Pectin Portfolio
29 Oct 2013 --- Andre Pectin has announced it is raising prices for its whole range of pectin products by 10-20% for all markets. Exact increase rate will depend on the product grade. The price increase will be effective for all deliveries on and after November 1, 2013.
In the past two years, we have been experiencing unprecedented price increases in citrus peel and apple pomace. Unfortunately this situation is deteriorating and hurting the market due to worsened supply of raw materials in the new season. While Andre Pectin continually optimizes its costs along the entire value chain, the impact of such external pressure can no longer be offset by improving process efficiency alone. This further price increase is necessary to enable Andre Pectin to continue to deliver the market and its loyal customers the best value with high quality products.
Andre Pectin’s pectin products are widely used in a variety of food applications, including jams and fruit spreads, confectionery, fruit preparation for yoghurt, beverages, acidified dairy drinks and health supplements.
Royal DSM announced the completion of the acquisition of a 19% equity interest in Andre Pectin, a China based producer of texturing ingredients, earlier this month. DSM announced this acquisition on 5 May 2013.
