Tampico Plus is a smart and delicious solution for families looking for a great-tasting beverage that is full of vital nutrients for overall health.

14/06/06 Children are often more willing to eat nutritious foods, drink healthy beverages and be active if they see their parents and other family members doing these things first. That's why it's important to get every member of the family involved in supporting a healthy lifestyle. Today's health-minded consumers are seeking out healthier dietary choices and the makers of America's #1 brand of Refrigerated Juice Drinks have created an irresistible new product that is full of vitamins, calcium and has half the sugar of many regular juice drink beverages - new Tampico(R) Plus.

"We all need a wide variety of vitamins and minerals to keep our bodies healthy and strong. Chances are, if you or your children have special dietary concerns such as lactose intolerance or issues with being overweight or difficulty maintaining strong bones, you are more in tune with your daily dietary needs," said Richard Ross, Senior Director of Marketing, Tampico Beverages. "It's no secret that people need to maintain their overall health by eating right, staying hydrated and getting plenty of rest and exercise. That's why we are very excited to bring new Tampico Plus to market - it's a drink that kids will enjoy and moms will feel great serving their families."

Tampico Plus is a smart and delicious solution for families looking for a great-tasting beverage that is full of vital nutrients for overall health. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, today's kids do not get enough calcium for growing bones and teeth and it recommends calcium-fortified beverages and foods as a source of dietary calcium. Good news! Each 8-oz. serving of Tampico Plus contains 25% of the RDA of vitamin D, the same as in a glass of milk and 10% of the RDA of calcium. Tampico Plus also features:

-- 50% less sugar than many regular juice drinks to help moms and kids stay fit

-- Vitamin A, known as Retinol, which helps promote good vision and maintains healthy teeth, bones and skin

-- Vitamins C and E are antioxidants that support the body's immune system, help reduce the effects of aging and promote growth and development

-- It's lactose free - a perfect way for lactose intolerant individuals to get their much-needed calcium and vitamin D, especially among Hispanics who have one of the highest incidences of lactose intolerance

This month, health-minded consumers nationwide can visit the refrigerated juice aisle to pick up new Tampico Plus which is available in four irresistible flavors: Citrus, Kiwi Strawberry, Mango and Tropical. Tampico Plus is sold at a suggested retail price of $1.29 - $1.79 per half gallon.

Tampico Beverages, which has historically targeted value-conscious consumers predominantly within the Hispanic market, is currently expanding its popular product lines to reach even more consumers. The company's core juice drink product, Tampico Fruit Punches, is the highest indexing among Hispanics according to Spectra data and has remained the number one selling SKU in the U.S. (Tampico Citrus Punch 128 oz. size) according to ACNielsen. Tampico Plus joins Tampico(R) Flavored Water Beverages as the most recent additions to Tampico's growing portfolio of "better for you" products.
