Allied Captures Lakeland Inspiration For Langton’s Gin
12 Feb 2013 --- Allied Glass recently created a bottle for the launch of Langtons Gin, which is an example of what can be achieved when the latest design technology is combined with imagination and craftsmanship.
Langtons is a distinguished gin crafted from pure natural spring water from the Lake District. The bottle was inspired from a piece of slate found at the heart of Langtons, under Skiddaw mountain. It was resting on the slopes of Skiddaw over the ancient acquifer, the natural water source for Langtons No 1 gin.
Trying to capture the Lake District in a bottle, it was essential that it reflected slate contours, one proudly being the profile of Skiddaw on the front face of the bottle. Furthermore, the colour of the bottle emulates the properties of wet slate, the greens, blues and blacks on different days in the Lake District.
The classic, stand alone quality of the gin is also reflected by the tapered rectangular shape of the bottle with a soft curved finish, which pays homage to the original gin flask from the early 1700s.
Langtons Gin was created by co-founder, Tim Moor, who expertly incorporates an exclusive blend of exotic ‘botanicals’ which uniquely includes seasoned bark from 100 year old oak trees of Lake District National Park heritage.
