Alhambra Reserva Added to Morgenrot Portfolio
20 Nov 2014 --- Manchester-based importer Morgenrot has announced that it will be permanently listing its unique 75cl champagne-corked Alhambra Reserva 1925 SKU in its growing portfolio, on the back of overwhelming demand since last year’s sell-out Christmas launch.
The Reserva 75cl format, which sold out within 10 days when launched last November, has recently been awarded Silver for Best Packaging in the International Beer Challenge.
Available in cases of twelve, Alhambra Reserva is based on the original 1925 recipe, with a long 35 day conditioning and the brand’s first bottle design, now iconic, is free from the typical branding found on many beers.
Morgenrot commercial director John Critchley commented on the move: “The feedback from accounts who stocked it was fantastic and we had many phoning us requesting its return on a permanent basis. The new format definitely epitomises the uniqueness and quality of the Alhambra brewery and it was a no-brainer for us to permanently list it alongside the rest of their exciting range.”
Alhambra Reserva 1925 (6.4% abv) is regarded as a connoisseur’s lager and is a full-bodied amber delight with malted caramel aromas and a herbal bittersweet finish. The exclusive beer, which uses the finest ingredients including hops such as Nugget, Magnum, Taurus and Sauz, and water from the snow-capped Sierra Nevada Mountains, is the Alhambra brewery’s flagship brand and is already stocked in an array of leading Spanish restaurants, hotels, bars and pubs.
Beer, wine and spirit importer Morgenrot has been exclusively distributing the Alhambra range in the UK for the last five years. The brand saw triple digit growth on the back of increased investment in 2013 and is on track to see YOY growth of 28%.
