Ajinomoto To Enter Indonesian Bakery Market
04 Jun 2015 --- Japanese food manufacturer Ajinomoto has announced plans to open a frozen bread and baked products business in Indonesia.
With Indonesia experiencing economic growth, the dietary culture is diversifying and the consumption of bread is spreading rapidly. The bread market in Indonesia is worth around $350m, with an annual compound growth rate of 13% between 2008 and 2013, according to Ajinomoto.
The new company will develop and manufacture high-value-added frozen bread that is not yet widespread in the growing Indonesian bread market and has not been produced in the country to date. Products manufactured by ABI will be sold mainly in the Jakarta metropolitan areas by PT Ajinomoto Sales Indonesia, which has a strong sales record. The main consumers are expected to be from the growing middle class.
