Afimilk Partner in Belarus Wins Large Government Bid

17 Sep 2012 --- The government of the Republic of Belarus has awarded afimilk partner in Belarus, Promtechnika, a large-scale bid to set up 135 milking parlors by the end of 2012. As part of this effort, Promtechnika and afimilk will also establish a production line of afimilk management systems for marketing throughout Belarus.

This award is a step in a government initiative to increase local milk production by 50% over the next few years. The project is expected to generate sizeable government expenditures, along with heavy investments from out of the country.

Already, the Belarus government has started to invest heavily in milk production and milking equipment, as well as in the establishment of numerous dairy farms throughout the country.

"At every farm, we must introduce a new dairy complex either by renovating an old one or building new one,” said Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus

"afimilk is investing anywhere in the world where farmers want to improve the performance of their dairy farms" said Yuval Rachmilevitz, afimilk CEO. "In Belarus we found the ideal combination: a strong and aggressive professional partner, Promtechnika, and a supportive government seeking to dramatically increase milk production, using the best technology for management and control."

For more than 12 years Promtechnika has been a producer and designer of the most advanced dairy equipment - milk cooling tanks and milking machines. About 42% percent of the total daily Belarusian milk yield is cooled in Promtechnika cooling tanks.

afimilk provides dairy producers the technology and the knowledge to profitably produce high quality milk. Committed to meeting all needs of the modern dairy farm, afimilk seeks to enhance such crucial areas as fertility, health, feed, herd planning, milk quality and farm management. A technological pioneer, afimilk was the first to introduce an electronic milk meter in 1979, a pedometer for monitoring cows’ health in 1984, a dairy farm management system in 1993, and an online milk analyzer in 2008.
