ADM Introduces New Food Creations at IFT 2009
As part of its protein portfolio, ADM offers three varieties of NutriSoy protein crisps – 60 percent protein, 80 percent protein and 85 percent protein.
03/07/09 Archer Daniels Midland Company introduced three new food creations at the 2009 Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Food Expo in Anaheim, Calif. The IFT Annual Meeting and Food Expo is the largest annual food science forum and exposition in the world with approximately 20,000 attendees expected.
“With hundreds of ingredients and our application expertise, ADM is truly a one-stop shop for the food industry,” said Beth Chandler, ADM spokesperson. “During IFT, food manufacturers will have the opportunity to learn, and taste, how many of our ingredients – from indulgent chocolate, to nutritious bean powders to functional proteins – can be used in unique and creative ways.”
During IFT, ADM sampled the following creations:
• Date & Almond Breakfast Bar: ADM’s VegeFull navy bean powder makes this breakfast bar – which also includes Prolite wheat protein isolate and NovaLipid soybean oil – a good source of fiber.
• Triple Chocolate Brownie: We’ve wrapped up both Ambrosia chocolate chunks and De Zaan cocoa powder in a Triple Chocolate Brownie that’s topped with chocolate fudge icing for true indulgence.
• Oats & Crisp Bar: ADM’s NutriSoy high-protein crisps and Fibersol-2 dietary soluble fiber make this nutritious and delicious bar a good source of both protein and fiber.
ADM also featured Sweet ‘n’ Neat dry honey powder, from its line of natural, dry sweeteners, in a Sweet ‘n’ Crunchy Sesame Mix. ADM’s dry sweeteners, which include dry honey, molasses and malt extract, add flavor, color and aroma to foods such as snacks, baked goods, nutrition bars, and margarines and spreads.
ADM’s Sweet ‘n’ Neat 2000 dry honey powder, featured in the Sweet ‘n’ Crunchy Sesame Mix, is 70 percent honey that is converted to a free-flowing powder through a special patented drying process. The product delivers the same flavor, color and functional benefits of liquid honey, but can be used in dry technology applications or other areas where process or product constraints prevent the use of liquid honey.
Also featured this year is ADM’s line of VegeFull cooked bean ingredients, which offers powders, grits, noodles, pieces and whole quick-prep beans. VegeFull ingredients are made from black, small red, navy or pinto beans, or chick peas to increase vegetable protein and fiber in foods such as baked goods, snacks, dips, cereals and more.
Another source of fiber featured this year is ADM’s Fibersol-2 dietary soluble fiber, which is derived from corn starch. It can be added to nearly any food or beverage application – yogurt, tea, protein bars and soups – without affecting taste, and is virtually invisible, dissolving clearly in liquids.
As part of its protein portfolio, ADM offers three varieties of NutriSoy protein crisps – 60 percent protein, 80 percent protein and 85 percent protein. Made from soy and wheat, the 85 percent protein crisps have one of the highest protein contents on the market. The 60 percent and 80 percent versions are made from soy.
