AB Enzymes Strengthens Leadership Team

Dr. Maurer’s responsibility for Business Development will primarily focus on 2nd Generation Biofuels from Biomass, but will also entail AB Enzymes’ entry into other industries.

1/5/2011 --- AB Enzymes announces the appointment of Prof Dr. Karl-Heinz Maurer as Director of Business Development. The appointment will complete the leadership team at the company. Karl comes from consumer goods company Henkel and has over 25 years of experience in enzymes and biotechnology. "Biotechnology is the core business of AB Enzymes, and the company has a very focused strategy to grow and improve its Enzymes business. I believe I can contribute significantly to this strategy and that was critical for my decision to join this leading organization." says Maurer.

Until recently, he was head of Henkel’s Biotechnology group. Moreover, he is a Professor at the University of Greifswald and holds several board memberships of organizations such as AMFEP and IWBio. “Attracting Karl to join us was a very good opportunity to utilize his substantial know-how and network in the industry and is another step towards building the innovative and customer-focused organization we aspire to be.” said Aryan Moelker, CEO of AB Enzymes.
