11/03/08 Leading seafood processor Cumbrian Seafoods have further strengthened their already impressive environmental credentials with the launch of their new Prawn Cocktail single portion pot for Tesco.

Cumbrian Seafoods had already commissioned research into the purchase, storage and consumption of the legendary snack when presented with a challenge by Tesco at a recent supplier conference, to bring about improvements in the area of carbon foot printing and the efficient use of energy. Collaboration with packaging specialist Superfos and the Tesco development team has created a delicious product with eco-friendly packaging and distribution quality.

The Prawn Cocktail re-launch, within Tesco’s Standard and Healthy Living ranges, using high visual impact oval pots, is expected to expand its popularity still further. Research suggested that a 140g sub-£1 single portion offering would satisfy the requirements of regular consumers and attract new customers to the snack.
