International Spice Conference is Back with a Bang!

ISC 2017 to be held in Kovalam on February 12-14

The second edition of International Spice Conference organized by the All India Spices Exporters Forum (AISEF) is scheduled for February 12-14, 2017 at The Leela, Kovalam, Kerala. The sessions of ISC 2017 will be centred on the theme: “21^st Century Spice Industry- Disrupt or be disrupted”.

The International Spice Conference (ISC) has become the single most sought after platform to think, act and evolve relevant measures, to discover path-breaking innovations, to face and find solutions, and to work around the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous challenges that the spice industry poses. The first edition of the conference in 2016 held at Goa had 600 delegates from over 40 nationalities and featured over 45 speakers and 25 exhibitors.

ISC 2016 held at Goa identified 3 pillars upon which the future of spice industry will stand,

ISC 2017 looks at disruptive innovations as the key to survival. The theme itself for the conference is “21^st Century Spice Industry- Disrupt or be disrupted”. Once again we are perfectly poised to script history by bringing the entire spice fraternity together under a single roof.

The sessions of ISC 2017 will discuss

• Disruptions in Spice Quality Standards-Food Safety and Sustainability

• Crops and Markets

The sessions will offer maximum networking opportunities for the delegates and ample space for companies to exhibit their products and services.

The Spice Tour

Soon after the conference an optional spice tour is being offered to the delegates on February 15, 2017. This tour will cover Tropical spice plantations of Kerala and Chilli farms of Andhra Pradesh

An added attraction is the venue – The Leela, Kovalam – which is India’s only cliff-top resort overlooking the sea. The Conference expects around 800 delegates from around the world.

The All India Spices Exporters Forum established in the year 1987, works toward protecting the interests of the spice exporters in the country, creating a sustainable, pro-development business environment for the spice industry and its stakeholders. AISEF members represent about 80% of India’s spice industry. AISEF works very closely with organisations like M/s IDH, Netherlands, and the World Spice Organisation, and in various Sustainable Spice Programs in India for the betterment of the industry. The Forum envisages using the ISC platform to address the challenges and explore innovations in the spices value chain to create a long-standing, positive impact.
