Edlong Dairy Technologies works on dairy flavors. “For us, that means flavors that replicate the taste of dairy, so our range doesn’t always contain dairy,” explains Anne-Marie Butler. This is why the company was able to showcase four different demos at FiE 2017, two of which were vegan and the other two were both protein fortified – an indulgent truffle bite and a high-protein savory snack. The company comes at its development from a position of passion; for example, Butler is not vegan herself but loves the innovation associated within the space.
Edlong Dairy Technologies celebrated 100 years at the IFT Food Expo 2014. The company’s new dedicated microsite, 100flavorfulyears.com, showcases better-for-you innovations that products developers can incorporate in their formulation efforts. Attendees could sample better-for-you product concepts containing dairy flavors like beverages, snacks, and more.
