21 Jan 2020 --- The company that started over 150 years ago in caramel colors recently added two new bright, natural and fully traceable colors to its portfolio. Dr. Connie Sandusky, Global Marketing Director at DDW The Color House discusses a new anthocyanin red at Fi Europe 2019. The red comes from purple corn, which can be traced directly to the farmer who produced it. The new chlorophyll color comes from the only approved edible plant-source material on the market – Lincolnshire grass.
12 Dec 2017 --- DDW promoted a number of new innovations at FiE 2017. “We have our NaturBrown range, which are clean-label solutions for caramel colors, so these come from 100 percent natural sources such as caramelized apple, caramelized onion, caramelized tomato and caramelized garlic,” Christine Cuddihy explains. The company is also promoting its EmulsiTech range, which includes betacarotene and paprika emulsions, and these are available in clear and cloudy forms. They were mainly developed to work in beverages, but they work in a wide variety of applications as well.
27 Jul 2017 --- DDW recently introduced a food color powder derived from a purple corn hybrid cultivated in the US. The non-GM powder exhibits a deep purple surface shade; the appearance is vibrant red in an acidic aqueous system. Food and beverage companies can simply list “purple corn juice color” or “colored with vegetable juice” on ingredient statements. DDW’s customers benefit from the innovative color’s safe, sustainable, traceable and transparent supply chain. Katie Rountree of DDW discusses color innovation at the company.

04 Dec 2020 --- This week, FoodIngredientsFirst spoke with DDW who discussed its innovations in food colors, including greens and blacks which are gaining popularity. Cultured chicken meat was green-lighted for sale in Singapore as an ingredient in chicken bites. UK-based CPI technology innovation center partnered with 3DBT to develop a new kind of improved growth media, one that is “truly animal-free.”
