Yucheng's Dry form Maltitol is Prohibited for Import into the U.S.
Roquette Frères which is the owner of U.S. Patent No. 6,344,591 has obtained a further order in September 2009 from the U.S. District Court directing the United States Customs and Border Protection agency to exclude from entry into the United States any dry form maltitol originating from Yucheng Lujian Biological Co. Ltd.
1 Feb 2010 --- U.S. District Court has issued further prohibition against importation into the United States of dry form maltitol by Yucheng Lujian Biological Co., Ltd. and entities acting in concert with Yucheng.
Roquette Frères which is the owner of U.S. Patent No. 6,344,591 has obtained a further order in September 2009 from the U.S. District Court directing the United States Customs and Border Protection agency to exclude from entry into the United States any dry form maltitol originating from Yucheng Lujian Biological Co. Ltd., and any person or entity acting in concert with it, the company has said in a statement.
Roquette Frères announces that the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey recently issued additional relief directing the United States Customs and Border Protection agency to exclude from entry into the United States any dry form maltitol originating from Yucheng Lujian Biological Co. Ltd. or entities in active concert with Yucheng. Subsequent to the issuance of the Court's order, Yucheng entered into a further agreement on behalf of itself and its sister companies, including Shandong Maititol Biological Technology Co., Ltd., prohibiting Yucheng and its sister companies from selling, offering to sell, or importing into the United States any powdered maltitol.
Roquette is the owner of U.S. Patent 6,344,591, which has a term extending to September 2018. The invention claims modified maltitol crystals with a bipyramidal form and related crystalline mltitol compositions. The Patent also covers the process of manufacturing such maltitol crystal.

Previously, Roquette had obtained a judgment from the U.S. District Court enjoining Yucheng's customer Fass Food Ingredients, LLC. from the importation of any maltitol product which infringes U.S. Patent 6,344,591.
