Youki Food Acquires McCormick Spice Joint Venture in Japan
Youki Food will take over the production facilities and on January 2007, it will launch its sales of McCormick brand spices.
02/10/06 Lion, a Japanese company known for its toothpaste and detergent products, has announced the sale of its spice and seasoning joint venture with McCormick & Co. of the United States to Tokyo-based food ingredient producer Youki Food Co.
According to Lion, the sale will officially take place on November 30, 2006. This sale would liquidate McCormick-Lion Ltd., based in Iwata, Shizuoka Prefecture, central Japan. Youki Food will take over the production facilities and on January 2007, it will launch its sales of McCormick brand spices.
The value of the deal is not disclosed by Lion.
