18/06/09 Weight Watchers is launching an indulgent Rich Chocolate Dessert, offering even more variety to consumers who want sumptuous, but lower fat desserts.
The Weight Watchers Rich Chocolate Dessert, manufactured under license by Yoplait, is a full flavoured smooth, dark chocolate dessert with just a Weight Watchers points value of 1. Available in store from June, the dessert comes in 2 x 70g pots and has a MRRP of £1.15.
Hayley Roth, Weight Watchers Senior Brand Manager at Yoplait, said: "Chocolate continues to be the most popular flavour for desserts but can often be a no-no for consumers watching their weight.
"Weight Watchers Rich Chocolate Dessert combines irresistible dark Belgian chocolate with a creamy rich texture, providing dieters with the taste sensation they are looking for, with none of the guilt."
Weight Watchers Chilled Yogurts and Desserts (CYD) continue to grow at 2.2% per cent year on year. The brand is worth £54m and has a 21 per cent value share of the sector.
New product development that enables consumers to have a wide variety of flavours and indulge in their favourite desserts without feeling guilty has driven the brand forward.
