Two flavors have been formulated, containing Vitasti's Amazon Acai Granola.
Sports nutrition and weight loss product (SNWL) sales grew in the U.S. by 14 percent in 2004 to reach $15.6 billion, according to a report released by Nutrition Business Journal (NBJ). NBJ's Sports Nutrition & Weight Loss Report 2005 forecasts that U.S. consumer sales of all SNWL products will sustain compound annual growth rates of 5-7 percent over the next eight years, reaching sales of $22.8 billion in 2013. Incremental new sales of $700 million to $900 million will be added to the market each year between 2006 and 2013, representing significant opportunities for new products and substantial growth potential for existing products or brand extensions. Higgins, Cohn Brand Management will handle Canadian sales of the new bar line in Canada, Fred Duffner (formerly of Atkins Nutritionals and Revlon) will handle the U.S. market, and Someo International will handle Asian sales -- each amongst the largest distributors of natural foods and nutraceutical products, all of which have the ability to instantly penetrate the global marketplace.
