US drinks giant enters race for Allied Domecq

25/04/05 Constellation Brands is said to have called in bankers for advise on a possible counter-bid to Pernod Ricard’s agreement on Allied Domecq.

The news comes just days after Allied Domecq accepted to be taken over by rival Pernod Ricard. This deal could have created the world’s second-largest wine and spirits firm.

Constellation makes more than 200 drinks brands. Its portfolio includes Hardys wine and Corona beer.
