Unfiltered News on Systembolaget - Staropramen Unfiltered
On December 2 have a Staropramen Unfiltered, from one of the world's most popular breweries, place in Systembolaget's fixed range. The exciting and unfiltered lager has a fruity and fresh aroma with easy tone of apple. The Czech beer is not any type of beer, but must be handled and served in the right way to bring out its character in the best way.
Staropramen Unfiltered is an innovative Czech lager where besides barley it even used some wheat malt to give a somewhat unpolished character with light rain and light ocher hues. The beer has a slightly spicy body, with a hint of coriander and a clear refreshing bitterness and mildly prominent apple tones.
- Staropramen is a fantastic Czech brewery that produced first class beer ever since its inception more than 150 years ago. With Staropramen Unfiltered we get another interesting beer from one of the world's best breweries. The beer has been endowed with a flowery and highly refined taste that fits on many occasions, says Henrik Bystrom, Communications Manager at Carlsberg Sweden. Its properties make it ideal as a socializing drink in good company. You can enjoy the fresh beer with to fit with a light fare, or preferably something with a little more sting that can be found in Asian cuisine or a spicy fish stew and chicken dishes. Grilling is also good as well as seafood and especially shrimp. Or why not the traditional Czech dish crunchy breaded schnitzel, tasted sitting in the foam temperature, glass and foam are important to bring out the best in Staropramen Unfiltered. The flavor of the beer is best highlighted at a serving temperature 6-8 degrees and in a clean mug or goblet.
The beer is unfiltered so the bottle should be rotated before and during pouring to release the flavors. Foam also has a central role in highlighting Staropramen Unfiltered as according to Czech tradition it is served with a rich foam crown.
- In Sweden too much foam on the beer is avoided but in the Czech Republic it plays a central role since it is where most of the flavor is. The foam must be dense, creamy and thick, and preferably persist until the glass is empty to preserve the beer's qualities in the best way, says Paul Petrik at the beer hall Hospodské Dvere in Stockholm there exclusively where the Czech beer is served. Paul Petriks has five steps to create a perfect decanted Staropramen Unfiltered;
Take a clean beer glass of suitable size.
Tilt the glass and align mouth of the bottle upright in the middle of the glass before pouring.
Fill three-quarters of the glass and make sure you get a creamy, dense foam crown that is 3-5 cm.
Tilt the glass upright and continue pouring until frothy head reaches over the glass edge.
Enjoy!
